Why I built RingOtter

Hey, I’m Rg. I build apps that help me run multiple businesses while serving on active duty.

I was paying for Quo for my different businesses. More numbers meant a bigger bill. I didn’t want to keep paying it.

So I tried using my Twilio numbers instead. But the apps I tried felt clunky or too basic. And I was missing calls and texts.

So I built RingOtter. I use it every day for my own businesses.

I wanted three things:

Affordable. From $0.99/month for the app. Twilio bills separately.
Polished. An app I actually want to open. Not another clunky tool to put up with.
AI when it’s useful. A hand with replies when I’m stuck. I still choose what gets sent.

And your numbers stay in your own Twilio account. They’re yours.

Is a phone number included?

No. Bring your own Twilio numbers. Twilio bills separately for number rental, calls, texts, and applicable fees.

Can I bring a number from Quo or another provider?

Your number needs to be in your own Twilio account. Check whether you can move it using Twilio’s porting guide. RingOtter doesn’t transfer it for you.

Can I use my existing Twilio phone numbers?

Yes. Connect your account and import them. Your numbers stay with Twilio.

What does the AI do?

It suggests replies. You can edit them, ignore them, or use them. You choose what gets sent.

How do I keep my conversations separate?

Filter your inbox by number. Replies come from the number the conversation started on.

Does RingOtter work on Android or iPad?

It’s built for iPhone, with iOS 18 or later. Android and iPad aren’t supported.

What do I pay RingOtter and Twilio?

RingOtter charges for the app: $0.99/month for one number or $4.99/month for unlimited linked numbers, per person. Twilio bills separately for the numbers and usage.

What does connecting involve?

Add your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token, then import your numbers. Calling takes additional setup. Review incoming-call routing, especially if the number already connects to another service.
